Consent to Treatment

When a resident is admitted to St. Patrick's Home, there is an understanding that that the Home will provide basic care to the resident and that the resident agrees to accept it.

At the same time, the Home encourages residents to maintain independence in as many ways as possible, including decision-making about choices for personal care and treatment.  Each resident and family will be informed about their health situation, the choices that they have and the interdisciplinary team's suggested course of treatment.  Before any non-routine treatment takes place, consent will be sought.
