The Library is just to the left as you enter the main lobby. It is a large room, truly a library as it contains wall of books for residents to borrow, and boast a large-screen TV, fireplace, and several groupings of chairs. The Ottawa Public Library visits regularly as well, adding to the veracity of the name, bringing requested books and tapes and picking up ones that are finished. The room joins onto the Main Dining Room and together these rooms have seen many parties and other special events over the years.
At other times, the
room can be a very quiet place, suitable for relaxed visiting between
family members. On Sunday afternoons around 3 pm, you will find
residents, volunteers and family members enjoying "Afternoon Tea" often
in a sun-filled room, since this side of the building faces west. |
