Another wonderful H & C Golf Tournament was held on August 9, 2011 by Heart & Crown Irish Pubs in support of St. Patrick's Home of Ottawa Foundation. For the third year, St. Pat's has been honoured to be the recipient charity of the tournament. We deeply appreciate the friendship and kindness of the Heart & Crown in continuing to show its proud support and sponsorship our charitable, not-for-profit, long-term care Home. The tournament was once again a great success, raising over $30,000 for the Residents of St. Pat's Home. The Golfers and staff also enjoyed a great day of golf, prizes and fun, followed by fabulous entertainment and a delicious dinner hosted by the Heart & Crown in the Byward Market. We are all looking forward to the 2012 Heart & Crown Golf Tournament to be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Friday, March 9, 2012 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. A Celebration of all things Irish! March 9, 2012
Our annual Erin Luncheon was back again this year and was a great success! Presented jointly by the Irish Society of the National Capital Region and St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa Foundation, this event, part of the 2012 Irish Festival, was another sold-out hit this year. COMMUNITY EVENTS - THIRD PARTY EVENTSThank you for hosting a fundraising event in support of the residents at St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa. The support we receive from our community has a direct, positive impact on our charitable, not for profit long term care Home and assists us in providing the high quality care for which we are renowned. HOST A COMMUNITY EVENT Did you know that: Your business Your school Your team Your club Your group Your Church You as an individual, can make a difference in the daily lives of the residents of St. Patrick’s home! WHAT KIND OF EVENTS? Birthday, anniversary celebration, or garden party Company golf / softball / bowling tournament Proceeds from a BBQ, pancake breakfast or bake sale Selling products with a percentage of sales donated to the St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa and Foundation ...and there are many other possibilities! HOLDING A COMMUNITY EVENT IS A GREAT WAY TO HELP US BUILD A NEW HOME FOR ST. PAT’S. After you have your idea – make a plan! Create a basic budget Create an event check list Well-defined goals, careful scheduling, detailed actions and contingency plans are the keys to successful execution Check-in with the foundation about your idea by emailing foundation@stpats.ca or by calling 613-260-2738. We do not have the resources to organize third-party/community events but we are happy to talk to you about your proposed idea and share our expertise. DON’T FORGET TO ASK YOUR FRIENDS FOR HELP! Determine who you know that would help your event be successful, and ask them to participate. GET THE WORD OUT! The participation of your friends and family in your fundraising activities is the best possible way to ensure your event will be successful. Send invitations, pick–up the phone, email, or use social media to publicize your event. Don’t forget to let your school, co-workers, parish or group know about your fundraiser.
