The Annual Erin Luncheon March 9, 2012
A Celebration of all things Irish!
Presented jointly by the Irish Society of the National Capital Region and St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa Foundation, this event, part of the 2012 Irish Festival, was another sold-out hit this year.
Wonderful Irish entertainer Gail Gavan and The Shades of Green: Seamus Costello, Dave Ryan and Ellen Daly, along with the Triple Trouble dancers were present. A fabulous Irish repast was offered. Other event highlights; an exciting live auction was announced by the Jewel 98.5 radio personality Brother Bob, our 2012 lottery winners were revealed, guest appearance by St. Patrick himself, and lots of great times with friends and family were had!
A special thanks to the Erin Luncheon commitee members from the Irish Society of the NCR; Bill Tobin, Jim Dineen and Jack McManus for all of their hard work! This wonderful event was made possible by a collaborative effort by many staff members and volunteers.
A huge thank you for all those who helped to make this the best Erin Luncheon yet.
$10,000 Early Bird Draw 2012 January 25, 2012
Congratulations to Diane Van Zeeland of Osgood, ON, who was the winner of the St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa Foundation Lottery draw, held in the Library of St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa. Over 100 Residents, Volunteers, friends and staff looked on as Rose of Tralee, Sarah Thorenton, picked the winning ticket. The winner, Mrs. Zeeland, was called via speaker phone and could not believe she had won. She will be taking her husband John back to Holland, his native land,with her prize winnings. What dream vacation would you take with $10,000?
