The St. Patrick’s
Foundation 2010 Lottery, Early Bird Draw of $10,000.00 was held on
January 27, 2010.
Jason Kelly,
General Manager,
Monterey Inn,
2259 Prince of Wales Drive, kindly hosted the event, which started at 8:00 a.m.
CTV’s
Michael O’Byrne, Honourary Chairman for the Lottery,
oversaw the festivities (after a lovely complimentary breakfast) and
made sure the events ran smoothly.
The
Ottawa 2009 Rose of Tralee, Ms. Sarah Thorenton,
drew the
winning ticket.
For the first time ever, the
Lottery was
SOLD OUT
before the Early Bird Draw.

On behalf of the residents of St. Patrick’s Home, I
wish to thank you for your support and announce that for the first time
in the Lottery’s 20 year history, we have SOLD OUT prior to the
Early Bird Draw. This is a remarkable accomplishment and we are
grateful!
Our core team of volunteers is to be commended for
their extraordinary leadership and their “roll-up-their-sleeves” hard

The marketing plan for this year’s Lottery was driven
by the goal to build the profile of the Home with various constituencies
leading to immediate grassroots support, while also cultivating an
appetite for strong future investment in our Redevelopment project.
Highlights of the team’s marketing efforts to achieve these goals:

Lottery application distribution via The
Ottawa Citizen to 3,000 homes within our postal code area
§
Radio ads on the CHUM group of radio stations
targeting a younger demographic
§
16 Parishes personally visited by Mary Kealey
and members of our Parish team. Information also supplied for Parish
Bulletins
§ Ads
in the Ottawa Citizen
§
Ads and stories in the EMC group of newspapers
– with citywide distribution
§
Internal promotion to staff via paystub forms
and excellent PR at the Home’s Reception for after hours and internal
buyers
§
Michael O’Byrne CTV News at Noon Anchor
hosting an interview with Fdn staff and promoting our Lottery on air
several times
§
Call Campaign run by Louise Bourbeau for 2
nights and one afternoon with 5 volunteer callers to promote ticket
sales
§
Emails sent to VIPS requesting support and
email distribution of form electronically to their contacts
§
Promotion on air on the Gaelic Hour - CHIN
radio and via the Gaelic Hour newsletter
§
Promotion to all Irish Society members via
their newsletter
§
Promotion on our website
§
A compelling Direct Mail appeal and strategy
developed by Robyn Keon

An extraordinary volunteer team providing
excellent external relations including; Alanna Rourke, Gail St. George,
