Strategic Plan

Over the last year, the Board of Directors of St. Patrick's Home has worked with the Home's Leadership team and many of the staff. They have consulted with various partners and stakeholders and after careful consideration and much hard work, have arrived at a three year Strategic Plan. This will take the Home from the current time, now that we have launched a wonderful new building, until the time when we actually move into that new Home. An integral part of the Plan will be to continue to prepare for our move, for there is still much to do. As well, a significant part of the work over this time will be to continue to provide quality, loving care to the Residents who are with us today.

We believe passionately that the quality and compassionate care that St. Patrick’s Home has given and will continue to give to the seniors of the Ottawa region is still needed. We believe that there is a need for St. Patrick’s Home to continue to provide values-driven care based on the healing ministry of Jesus.

In the next two years we will continue to meet the challenges of maintaining an older building while providing for increasingly complex resident care needs. We are also very cognizant of the changing face of health care in the province of Ontario and of the challenges posed by those changes.

Therefore, we have chosen the following strategic directions for St. Patrick’s Home for the period 2011-2013:

BUILD ON OUR LEGACY OF CARING

  • Be a Home where each person enjoys a quality living experience

  • Be proactive &responsive to emerging needs of residents/families

  • Optimize service by effective management and creative, progressive leadership

  • Integrate ethics into the fabric of the organization

  • Achieve shared commitment & accountability to quality & performance management

  • Manage risks effectively at the individual, team, organizational and governance levels

 

 

 

 

Strategic Direction 2

CELEBRATE OUR HERITAGE and PEOPLE DURING CHANGE

  • Honour and promote our spirit through our history and the people who continue to shape St. Pat’s

  • Establish a fulfilling work experience for all persons in our community of care

  • Guide & support persons in our community of care through periods of change

 

 

 

 

Strategic Direction 3

 

SHAPE OUR COMMUNITY OF TOMORROW

  • Generate the optimal continuum of care model

  • Develop a Master Plan for the St. Pat’s site

  • Be creative in securing resources for our growth and to benefit those we serve

  • Continue to be strong advocates and active participants in the health service system and its networks
